Call it an epiphany, a mid-life crisis or enlightenment, but in 1996 I decided to consciously redesign my life in a way that integrated my values, interests and creativity into my daily actions.   Who I was and how I was spending my precious life's energy were seriously out of synch.  I was called by my inner self to find the courage to live authentically.  I had to do nothing less than radically redesign my life.  Filled with both excitement and fear, I set out to discover my heart's path. Since embarking on that journey, I have found my heart's path and creative voice as an earth-friendly, women-centered, digital artist.   

After exploring my sacred, inner terrain, I reaffirmed that my personal mission was anchored in supporting the human spirit.  As I continued working on my life design, supporting women engaged in the sacred search for self emerged as central to my personal mission.  I wanted to help women in the discovery of their personal power and the development of their dreams and gifts.  How to do it was the question.  It became clear that my vehicle and tools would be very different that those I had used while working in human services for over 20 years.  Ultimately, I found my unbridled JOY in drawing whimsical illustrations with fun and positive messages for women.  Now, using the vehicle of my artistic gifts, I focus on encouraging women to accept the role of creator and to defy their doubts and design their dreams.  

Each of us is a creator.  Our past choices have created our present reality.   We are responsible for our current life content.  This truth is both frightening and liberating.  However, by accepting responsibility for the present we find the POWER for consciously creating the future.  Embracing the sacred role of creator in our own life designs, is an essential element in positive, personal evolution.  We become energized as we move toward the discovery of our true selves and cultivate our gifts.  

By becoming our truest and best selves we are better able to fully share our gifts with others.  By sharing our true talents and gifts, we enable and encourage others to become their best selves and to live out their unique, individual missions.  Our individual missions are nested within our deep, shared purpose to enrich earth.  So as we actuate our authentic lives, we are collectively enriching earth.

It has been an intense period of transition and unexpected transformation.  My daily life and work focus have completely changed.  In fact they are no longer two separate things.  My life and work are deeply integrated.  Every day is a joyful and challenging living experiment.  I am becoming more adept at trusting in the sacred, emergent process of life.  Don't get me wrong.  At times I am still prey to my own doubt demons.  I still have times when I experience fear and anxiety.  However, those times are growing fewer and less intense.  

The past few years have been filled with learning.   Perhaps one of the most startling and difficult lessons for me was/is that there is great freedom and serendipitous surprises when one let's go to live.  By embracing an improvisational approach or jazz-like style to living my life, I have found a much richer  texture.  Instead of over planning every step on the journey, I have learned to enjoy the side roads and unplanned detours, which often yield the richest experiences.  I remain open to the unimagined possibilities that may emerge along the way.  

Life is a flowing, dynamic cycle of being and becoming.  No matter where you are in your journey of personal development, at every moment you are the perfect expression of yourself.  You are also a completely unique expression in the universe.  Celebrate your uniqueness as you travel the inner terrain of your sacred lifescape.
